The following instructions will walk you through completing the registration process step-by-step.
The instructions vary slightly from grade-to-grade, so please sit down with your student to fully review the instructions for their grade level.

Step 1: Review the Course Catalog
Carefully review the required and recommended courses for your grade level. To learn more about a class, please review the course catalog and description videos.
7th Grade
Current 6th Grade Students
Mueller Park Jr High counselors and administrators will be visiting each elementary school during the week of January 23rd, 2023. During the visits to your child's classroom, the Mueller Park Jr High counselors will distribute blank registration forms, copies of the course catalog, and will give brief instructions on registration and answer questions your student may have about Mueller Park.
Please complete your child's course request online in their MyDSD account by February 10th. You may return your child's completed registration paperwork to their 6th grade teacher or bring to Panther Preview on February 1st.
Required 7th Grade Courses:
- Math: Math 7 (Requires a full year of Math Lab as a separate class) or Honors Math 7 or Honors Accelerated Math 7
- Must meet the portfolio requirements at the school district to be eligible for Honors Accelerated.
- English: English 7 or Honors English 7
- Science: Integrated Science 7 or Honors Integrated Science 7
- Social Studies: Foundations of SS Utah Studies or Honors Utah Studies (This is a full year class and so takes 1 elective spot)
- CCA: College and Career Awareness
- PE: Must complete one PE class in 7th or 8th grade.
- Art: Must complete one art class in 7th or 8th grade.

Your student will be instructed to review the instructions on this website and complete their request form with the help of a parent or guardian and submit thru their MyDSD account.

Accordion
Mueller Park Jr High mentor teachers will distribute paper registration forms and course catalogs to students during their 8th grade CCR appointment. Your student will be instructed to review the instructions on this website and complete their request form with the help of a parent or guardian and enter on myDSD.
Please submit course request online by February 10, 2023.
Required 9th Grade Courses:
- Math: Secondary Math 1, Honors Secondary Math 1, or Honors Secondary Math 2
- Must have completed Honors Secondary Math 1 in 8th grade or over the summer to be eligible for Honors Accelerated.
- English: English 9 or Honors English 9
- Science: Earth Science or Biology
- Biology is recommended for students who are interested in careers in the medical field and plan to take AP Biology or Chemistry in 10th grade.
- Earth Science is only taught in 9th grade. Students will not have the opportunity to take Earth Science in High School.
- Social Studies: World Geography (full year or semester) or AP Human Geography
- PE: PE Skills & Techniques 9 or Yoga/Zumba/Aerobics
- 1.5 PE credits (3 semesters) required to graduate. Taking at least one PE class in 9th grade is recommended to meet graduation requirements.

- Other Suggested Courses:
- Art: 1.5 art credits (3 semesters) required to graduate
- CTE: 1.0 CTE credits (two semesters) required to graduate, 3.0 CTE credits recommended for career-readiness
- If you need to fill a specific credit before 10th grade, talk with your school counselor about online class options.

Step 2: Complete the Registration Form
1. After reviewing the course descriptions fill out the paper course request that you received in your 6th grade class or print one (here).
2. Log in to student's MyDSD account (found at top right of mpjh webpage)
3. Click on "Academics"
4. In the drop down, select "Course Request"
5. Enter classes
6. Click "Verify"
Step 3: Review Audition & Teacher's Aide Class Information
Audition Courses:
Do not list audition/permission courses on your form. If you plan to take one of these classes, pick up an application in the counseling center or talk to the teacher about try outs. If you are chosen for the class, it will be added to your schedule at a later time.
7th grade students are only eligible for running for Student Body Officer. Watch for information Spring 2023.
