2025-26 School Year

The following instructions will walk you through completing the registration process step-by-step.

The instructions vary slightly from grade-to-grade, so please sit down with your student to fully review the instructions for their grade level.

Registration Process

Step 1: Review the Course Catalog

7th Grade

Current 6th Grade Students

Elementary schools will visit Mueller Park Jr High on January 27 & 28, 2025.  During the visit Mueller Park Jr High counselors will give registration packets to the teachers and will give brief instructions on registration and answer questions your student may have about Mueller Park.

You may return your child's completed registration paperwork to their 6th grade teacher by Feb. 7th or bring to Panther Preview on February 5th 2025. 

Required 7th Grade Courses: 

  • Math: Math 7 or Honors Math 7 or Honors Accelerated Math 7 

  • English: English 7 or Honors English 7

  • Science: Integrated Science 7 

  • Social Studies:  Foundations of SS Utah Studies 

  • CCA: College and Career Awareness

  • PE: Must complete one PE class in 7th or 8th grade. 

  • Art: Must complete one art class in 7th or 8th grade. 

8th Grade

Current 7th Grade Students

Mueller Park Jr High counselors will distribute paper registration forms and course catalogs to students on Feb. 24th & 25th in Science class. Your student will be instructed to complete the form at home and bring it back to class on Feb 27th & 28th where the counselors will help them input their information into the computer.

If your student is not in class on Feb 24 or 25 please have them return their form to the counseling dept by March 5th.   

Required 8th Grade Courses: 

  • Math: Math 8 or Honors Math 8  

    • Must have completed Honors Accelerated Math 7 & 8 in 7th grade or Math 8 over the summer to be eligible to take Honors Accelerated Math (Secondary Math 1). 

  • English: English 8 or Honors English 8

  • Science: Integrated Science 8 

  • Social Studies: US History or Honors US History

  • Health Education

  • Digital Literacy

  • PE: Must complete one PE class in 7th OR 8th grade. 

  • Art: Must complete one art class in 7th OR 8th grade.

9th Grade

Current 8th Grade Students

Mueller Park Jr High counselors will be completing course requests with each individual student during their CCR appointment.  

Required 9th Grade Courses: 

  • Math: Secondary Math 1, Honors Secondary Math 1, or Honors Secondary Math 2 

    • Must have completed Honors Secondary Math 1 in 8th grade or over the summer to be eligible for Honors Accelerated. 

  • English: English 9 or Honors English 9

  • Science: Earth Science or Biology

  • Social Studies: World Geography (full year or semester) or AP Human Geography

  • PE: 

    • 1.5 PE credits (3 semesters) required to graduate. Taking at least one PE class in 9th grade is recommended to meet graduation requirements. 
       

Other Suggested Courses: 

  • Art: 1.5 art credits (3 semesters) required to graduate

  • CTE: 1.0 CTE credits (two semesters) required to graduate, 

  • PE 1.5 PE credits (3 semesters) required to graduate. Taking at least one PE class in 9th grade is recommended to meet graduation requirements. 

  • Digital Studies: 0.5 credits required to graduate.

Advanced Placement Courses:

10th Grade

Current 9th Grade Students

Step 2: Review Audition & Teacher's Aide Class Information

Audition Courses: 

Do not list audition/permission courses on your form. If you plan to take one of these classes, pick up an application in the counseling center or talk to the teacher about try outs. If you are chosen for the class, it will be added to your schedule at a later time.

7th grade students are only eligible for running for Student Body Officer and taking Latinos in Action.   Watch for information Spring 2025.
